ART
Yudasto's responses to the space are recorded in the site-sensitive installation. Her pieces are momentary and transient.

ARTIST
Angelica Yudasto (b. 1993) is a multi-disciplinary artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
Yudasto grew up in Jakarta, raised by an Indonesian father and Peruvian mother before immigrating to Miami at the age of 9.
In navigating these disparate landscapes and the languages spoken within their borders, the artist intimately understands the variable and unspoken meanings contained within the written word and finds the same to be true with the honesty of mark-making.
Yudasto's drawings on glass embody the acquired fluidity and adaptability of her lived experience, capturing the transience of memory particularly as it relates to trauma. Her distinctive mark making is suspended amidst micro-bubbles fused between layers of kiln-formed glass, mimicking the way that traumatic experiences can be trapped and stored within the body only to reemerge in unexpected and unfamiliar forms.
